Did you know?bat

Rabid bats are found every year in Los Angeles County.  In 2019, fifty rabid bats were found in Los Angeles County - view a map here.

In 2020, 51 rabid bats were found in Los Angeles County. 1 was found in a Los Angeles City Park, 1 was found on a residential sidewalk, 1 was found outside of an apartment complex, 45 were found outside of homes, and 3 were found inside of houses.

  1. Los Angeles (northern Griffith Park area).  January.  Bat found alive on the ground.

  2. Northridge.  March.  Bat found alive in the backyard of a home. 

  3. Santa Clarita.  March.  Bat found dead in the front yard of a home. 

  4. Santa Clarita.  March.  Bat found alive clinging to a screen door outside of a home.  

  5. Castaic.  April.  Bat found dead on the driveway in front of a home.

  6. Santa Clarita.  May.  Bat found alive clinging to the side of a house. 

  7. Castaic.  May.  Bat found alive in the backyard of a house.

  8. Castaic.  May.  Bat found alive in a swimming pool.
