All veterinary students participating in Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, Veterinary Public Health and Rabies Control Program's externship have the following requirements:

1. Enrollment in an AVMA accredited veterinary medical school
2. Faculty approval*
3. Current rabies vaccination or adequate titer (>1:5RFF IT)
4. Medical insurance coverage
5. Access to a car, valid driver's license.

Externships are a minimum of 2 weeks with the average being a one (1) month duration.
