What is the the Employee
Referral Award Program( ERAP)?
The (ERAP) is the Los Angeles County Department
of Public Health/Health Services Employee Referral Award Program.
It is a program that rewards you for referring
Registered Nurses/Public Health Nurses to Public Health/Health
Services
employment. If you refer a candidate to an ERAP- eligible
position and this individual is hired, you can earn up
to $1000 for each Registered Nurse/Public Health Nurse
hired.
Who is eligible to
participate?
You may participate in ERAP if you are a Public Health/Health
Services employee on the date of the referral. Please note that you may not participate in ERAP if you have direct
supervisory responsibility for the referral applicant or
hold a management position that would influence his/her
hiring decision. Human Resources and Nurse
Recruitment staff are not eligible to participate.
How do I participate?
Share with your Registered Nurse/Public Health Nurse friends and colleagues how much you enjoy working for Public Health/Health
Services and encourage them to join you! Let them know that no matter
what their career interest or goal is, there is an
opportunity available for them at Public Health/Health
Services.

How do I make a referral?
Simply fill out the ERAP Referral Card and have your
referral submit it with his/her application for an ERAP-eligible
position. Make sure that the
ERAP Referral Card
is submitted to Human Resources by fax (323) 890-7855,
mail, or in person (Address-5555 Ferguson Drive,
Suite 210-01 City of Commerce, CA 90022. Office is
located on the second floor, assessable through the
West Elevator Lobby)
before your referral begins the civil service
examination process. If your referral neglects to submit the ERAP
Referral Card with the application, it may affect your
ability to be eligible to receive the referral award.
Who can I refer?
You may refer a Registered Nurse/Public Health Nurse who you feel shares in the mission and values of Public Health/Health
Services.
We appreciate any referral of individuals who you think would be an asset to our team; however, ERAP awards will only be given for hires made to ERAP-eligible positions, which are positions that have been designated as "hard-to-fill." To find out what specific
positions these are, please call the Public Health Nursing Recruitment and Retention Unit at (213) 240-7725.
