LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health cautions residents who are planning to visit the below Los Angeles County beaches to avoid swimming, surfing, and playing in ocean waters:
BEACH CLOSURE: Public Health has issued a beach closure due to sewage discharge affecting all swim areas around:
• RAT (Right After Torrance/Redondo) Beach located at southernmost section of Torrance Beach
This closure will remain in effect until bacterial levels meet health standards. Closure signs are also posted in these areas.
BEACH AREAS WARNINGS:
• Santa Monica Pier in Santa Monica
• Mother’s Beach in Marina Del Rey
• Redondo Beach Pier in Redondo Beach
These warnings have been issued due to bacterial levels exceeding health standards when last tested.
BEACH AREAS NOW CLEARED Warnings have been lifted for the following beach areas where recent sample results identified water quality levels within State standards:
• Wilshire Blvd. Storm Drain at Santa Monica Beach (North Tower 12)
• Inner Cabrillo Beach
