About Us

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health Office of Violence Prevention (OVP) collaborates with community and county partners to support the prevention of multiple forms of violence and contributing factors through a renewed focus on prevention, and to ensure that strategies are responsive to community, and trauma informed. OVP monitors the trends and circumstances of violent deaths affecting Los Angeles County residents. These data can inform decision-makers and program planners about ways to prevent and intervene on violence in the community, at home, and in the workplace.
