Just Drive Campaign
What is Distracted Driving?

Distracted driving is driving while doing another activity that takes your attention away from the road, increasing the chance that you’ll cause a crash. You’re driving distracted when you:

  • Talk on the phone
  • Text or dial
  • Use a GPS system
  • Talk to a passenger
  • Eat or drink
  • Apply make-up
  • Change music
  • Read

  • According to the National Highway Transportation Administration, every week over 100 people are killed and 11,000 people are injured because of a distracted driver.

    "Just Drive” Campaign

The campaign was developed collaboratively by the L.A. County Public Health and Sheriff’s Departments to decrease distracted driving-related accidents, injuries, and deaths in L.A. County. As a trusted healthcare professional, you can encourage your patients to limit their driving distractions. We’ve created a collection of resources that focus on the causes and consequences of distracted driving. Show your patients that distracted driving is a serious problem: distribute brochures and post flyers in your waiting rooms. Urge your patients to put all else aside and Just Drive.
