Make a LEAD COMPLAINT

BUILDINGS BUILT BEFORE 1978

Sandblasting or other Unsafe Lead Work Practices
To report a property where there is a danger of lead dust being created by sandblasting, waterblasting, power sanding, or other unsafe work, call 1-800-LA-4-LEAD or 1-800-524-5323.

Peeling Paint
If you live in a rental property and would like to report peeling paint or other maintenance problems, contact the Environmental Health’s District Surveillance and Enforcement Bureau at (626) 430-5200.


BUILDINGS BUILT AFTER 1978

Sandblasting
If you are concerned about the dust created by a sandblasting job or other construction/demolition work, you can contact the South Coast Air Quality Management District at 1-800-288-7664.

Peeling Paint
Although paint at properties built after 1978 shouldn’t have lead, painted surfaces must be maintained in good condition. If you live in a rental property and would like to report peeling paint or other maintenance problems, contact the Environmental Health’s District Surveillance and Enforcement Bureau at (626) 430-5200.
