About Camps and Schools Program

Ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of children is a top priority for any community. Children are among the most vulnerable populations, particularly in settings where they eat, play, and reside temporarily—such as camps, recreational programs, and schools. Through routine inspections, consultation, and collaboration with camp operators and food service providers, the program aims to minimize health risks and ensure compliance with local and state health and safety codes. By prioritizing prevention, the program plays a crucial role in promoting the health of children while supporting parents, schools, and camp administrators in delivering safe and enriching experiences.

The Camps and Schools Program is responsible for the enforcement of local and state public health laws and regulations at Children's Camps, Organized Camps and School Cafeterias.
