Consultative Services
The Consultative Services (CS) program provides technical assistance by engaging in activities that are designed to foster a greater understanding of local health department compliance policies and related state and federal codes.
Consultative Services oversees the Certified
Food Protection Manager (CFPM) Program through reviews and audits of Los Angeles County (LAC) approved CFPM
training providers. Additionally,
the unit issues the "Certificate of Excellence" to retail food establishments that receive three
consecutive "A" inspection ratings without high-risk violations or repeated moderate-risk violations.

The program keeps abreast with current issues and trends within the food industry by maintaining an advisory presence on various professional and business associations and committees,
such as the Food Safety Advisory Council (FSAC), Chinese
Restaurant Health Standard Task Force, and the California
Restaurant Association.
