SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

Waste Collectors

The County of Los Angeles Solid Waste Management Program is the Local Enforcement Agency (LEA) authorized by the California Public Resources Code, to conduct inspections of any solid waste facility within its jurisdiction. In conjunction with this inspection, the LEA is authorized to inspect all aspects of facility operation, including physical plant, equipment and vehicles. There are 2362 vehicles permitted with 140 active waste collectors as of June 2009. Inspections at these sites are done twice a year.
