Welcome to the Department of Public Health Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Compliance Program

Program Description

This program will administer ADA programs regarding access to our facilities and other reasonable modifications. The ADA Compliance Program will coordinate with our clients and community partners to accommodate, to the extent possible requested modifications to Public Health sponsored events. We will collaborate with people with disabilities, as well as organizations and authorized individuals representing people with disabilities to resolve potential barriers or complaints.

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) became law in 1990. The ADA is a Civil Rights law that prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities in all areas of public life, including, jobs, schools, transportation and all public and private places that are open to the general public.
